El Venado de las Pampas
Este cérvido americano, fue llamado “gwasú-tí” por los guaraníes, “yoam-shescé” por los puelches y “venado de las pampas” por los europeos. Corresponde a la especie Ozotoceros bezoarticus. Este Venado está constituido por tres razas que se diferencian por la coloración de su pelaje:Ozotoceros bezoarticus Leucogaster, aparentemente desaparecida de Argentina.
Ozotoceros bezoarticus Bezoarticus, se encuentra en pequeños enclaves en Brasil y Uruguay.
Ozotoceros bezoarticus Celer, ha quedado reducida a pequeños relictos en Buenos Aires (Bahía de Samborombóm y Faro Punta Medano) y San Luis con unos 700 ejemplares.
La Ley Nº 4778/87 (actual Ley Nº IX-0311-2004) establece su protección bajo el lema “El Venado o Ciervo de las Pampas es un Puntano que tiene derecho a seguir viviendo en estado salvaje en su provincia natal”.
Por Decreto Nº 6573/04 es creada la Reserva Natural “La Pionera” de unas 10 mil hectáreas destinada a la protección y preservación del pastizal pampeano y de nuestro Venado de las Pampas.
Ayudemos a su conservación, denuncie a quienes lo depredan.
The Pampas Deer
This South-american cervid is a species of Ozotoceros bezoarticus. Called “gwasú-tí” by Guaraní people, “yoam-shescé” by Puelche people, and “Pampas deer” by Europeans, Pampas deer is the name given to three different breeds with characteristic fur colours:Ozotoceros bezoarticus Leucogaster, which is apparently extinct in Argentina.
Ozotoceros bezoarticus Bezoarticus, whose habitat has been reduced to small enclaves in Brazil and Uruguay.Ozotoceros bezoarticus Celer, whose number of specimens has been reduced to a few in some areas of Buenos Aires (Samborombón Bay and Faro Punta Medano), and to about 700 in San Luis.
The Act 4778/87 (current Act IX-0311-2004) requires its protection under the motto 'The Pampas Deer is a Puntano (natural of San Luis) with the right to live in wildness in its native place'. Accordingly, the natural reserve “La Pionera” – about 10 thousand hectares allocated for protecting and preserving the Pampas deer and its habitat - was created through the Decree 6573/04.Help preserve this species and its habitat.
